At Intersec, we also announced the XPID210 – the industry’s first Android 15 handheld readers for access control. As PACS environments become more connected to enterprise IT networks, the operating system inside handheld readers matter. Android 15 brings stronger permission enforcement, tighter background process control, and better overall security. When combined with XPressEntry, the XPID210 becomes a hardened mobile endpoint for identity, permissions, and accountability in the field.

This matters because modern physical security no longer lives only at fixed doors. Guards, safety officers, and response teams need to be able to validate credentials, biometrics, permissions, and account for people wherever work actually happens. This includes guard shacks, secure perimeters, remote gates, muster points, and emergency assembly areas.
