HID Elite Keys on XPID Devices

This describes how to use your HID Elite keys on XPID devices using an XPressProx RFID module.

To start, you will need:

1. The elite key preparation/admin card and (Part Number: SEC-OK-CRD-E-P000)
2. The elite key media/loading card. (Part Number: SEC-OK-CRD-E-P001)

Both Key cards should have the matching ICE/Elite Key Reference Number.

Then follow this procedure:

1. Exit the XPressEntry Android application
2. Open up the KeyLink application
3. Click the close button to close and power off the reader
4. Leave the reader powered off for 10 seconds
5. Open the same reader – this should power on the reader
   • the status should change to “Connected”
6. Present the preparation card for 2 seconds to the Telaeris diamond on the back of the reader.
   • This will make the device ready to read the media card
7. Present the Media card for 20 seconds to the Telaeris diamond on the back of the reader
8. After 20 seconds, you should be able to present a regular access control card and get the correct output.

If the process doesn’t work, try one more time to verify that the keys were correctly loaded.
