Telaeris, Inc. has announced that its XPressEntry handheld access control and emergency mustering system is now officially certified and fully integrated with LenelS2’s OnGuard v8.3 platform. The integration enhances mobile security capabilities for a wide range of facilities by enabling real-time credential verification and emergency response functionality beyond fixed access points.
Real-Time Mobile Access and Emergency Management
With this certification, organizations using OnGuard can now synchronize their access control data live with XPressEntry handheld devices. This enables mobile verification of employee credentials and access permissions through badge scans or biometric authentication, even in remote or network-restricted areas. The system supports both fingerprint and facial recognition, giving security teams flexibility in how they verify identity on the move.
XPressEntry also enables emergency mustering by tracking personnel during evacuations or lockdowns. Security staff can view live occupancy data, identify missing individuals, and manage emergency roll calls from anywhere using mobile devices. Recent enhancements, such as the XPressEntry Muster Dashboard, add real-time facility occupancy visualization for improved situational awareness during critical events.
“We envision a future where safety and security teams can manage access control and critical events anywhere, anytime,” said Dave Carta, CEO of Telaeris. “Our integration with OnGuard reinforces that vision by enabling secure, real-time responses regardless of location.”
Expanded Use Cases and Offline Support
Beyond emergency response, XPressEntry supports a broad set of operational use cases. These include time and attendance tracking, visitor and guest management, mobile enrollment, remote parking verification, bus entry validation, and even conducting workplace surveys. Handheld readers operate offline when necessary, automatically syncing data with OnGuard when network access is restored—an essential feature for disaster recovery and high-security environments.
Implementation of the integration requires an OnGuard system version 7.0 or later, XPressEntry Server version 2.7 or higher, and appropriate licensing via LenelS2’s OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP), including DataConduIT or OpenAccess licenses. These technical requirements ensure seamless synchronization and system reliability across distributed facilities.
This development follows a broader industry trend of expanding mobile access control and biometric integrations within LenelS2’s OnGuard ecosystem. Other recent certifications, such as those from Invixium and ZKTeco, reflect growing demand for flexible, interoperable security solutions across sectors.
XPressEntry is widely deployed across diverse industries, including airports, corporate campuses, construction sites, manufacturing plants, healthcare institutions, government buildings, mines, and refineries—any environment where secure and mobile identity verification is a priority.
