“Too Many Connections” Sync Error — Closing Duplicate Client Sessions

< 1 min read

Applies to: Honeywell Pro-Watch (WINPAK) integrations, and other PACS integrations under sustained client load.

Symptom: Full Sync fails with:

System.ServiceModel.FaultException — "Too Many Connections"

Root Cause #

This is a server-level connection/session exhaustion issue — too many open client sessions against the Data Manager service at once, often from multiple XPressEntry desktop clients or duplicate service instances left running.

Fix #

  1. Identify and close any duplicate or stale XPressEntry desktop client sessions connected to the server.
  2. Restart the Data Manager service (and the XPressEntryService, if applicable) to clear any hung connections.
  3. Re-run Full Sync.
  4. If this recurs regularly, review how many concurrent client sessions are normal for your environment and whether a connection limit needs to be raised — contact Technical Support for guidance specific to your Data Manager version.

If This Doesn’t Fix It #

  • Confirm no scheduled task or script is opening repeated connections without closing them.
  • Contact the Telaeris Helpdesk with the sync log and a description of how many client sessions are typically open in your environment.
